List of Australian banks offering Green Loans

First 16 of 16 paragraphs shown On 19 February the Australian Government offered a new loan subsidy to participating financial institutions for energy efficiency loans. This subsidy covers the interest on borrowing of up to $10,000 for a period of up to four years.
Household choses lender: The household can choose which participating bank, credit union or building society they wish to apply for a loan with.
Only eight lenders so far: Only ten lenders were listed by the ustralian Government, - none were banks - all were Credit Unions - as it announced loan subsidy changes.
Existing lenders were:
- Australian Central Credit Union - available only to residents of South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory);
- AWA Credit Union (available only to ALCOA Employees/Contractors and their families);
- Berrima District Credit Union (available to residents of the shires of Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, Goulburn, Mulwaree and Yass Valley);
- Community First Credit Union;
- Heritage Building Society;
- Maleny and District Community Credit Union;
- New England Credit Union;
- Queensland Country Credit Union
- Teachers Credit Union
- Victoria Teachers Credit Union
