First 2 of 2 paragraphs shown A major power system incident at an electrical switchyard in NSW, resulted in electricity supply interruptions - Macquarie Generation Bayswater units all crashed - across eastern Australia just before midday on 2 July 2009.  Approximately 1000MW of household and industrial load was shed across five states – NSW (not the ACT), Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. Load restored was at 11.14am NSW time, after a fire at a TransGrid transformer.
